From product listing and organization to the shopping cart and secure checkout, RPRU has a fully self-contained E-Commerce website. I've worked with RPRU since the early times of their online venture and watched them migrate slowly but surely from EBay sales toward selling many of their products directly from their website.
FeaturesThey are able to manage their products on the website, upload pictures of their products that are then automatically resized with watermarks superimposed onto them, manage automatically generated insurance quotes and even keep track of a simple mailing list. Customers that visit the website can pay directly from the site over a secure connection using their credit card, so application security and stability are both highly critical. The website has also been built to accomodate international buyers and purchases with unusual requests.
HistoryThe site was designed by me and originally developed in ASP (Windows scripting) in 2003, but has since been upgraded to a more advanced language called PHP (Linux scripting) to allow them more flexibility.
